“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.” Sun Tzu
Peace exists as the quiet tranquillity that it is meant to be when one is free from conflict. To remain free from conflict there are two paths, all must be exactly identical in every way so as to prevent any division. The alternative is embrace the individual, support the tribe/community and always be prepared to defend yourself as an individual and part of a community.
Now, some, specifically philosophers will attempt to argue endlessly that “equality” per modern definitions is necessary and must be pursued using force, coercion and threats to gain it. This is the result of endless philosophy over action and reality. Logic dictates a simple approach, embrace philosophy but ensure it is practised upon without use of force, coercion or threats. No logical human can state unequivocally that through the use of government sanctions, laws, police and military things have become better. Rather the opposite has occurred in every instance. What has been proven and can be seen daily in all interactions between humans is that individuals will always act for their own benefit and sometimes the benefit of those they care about.
Crimes of all types, especially mass murder is a symptom of a much larger disease, this disease could be called, lossofpersonalresponsibility, otherwise defined easily as loss of personal responsibility. Interestingly, most humans know this to be true, and yet they avoid it because it is painful to admit that either they or those they care about are mindless drones whose sole contribution to society is as a user, addict and or taker. Understand, I do not care if this hurts your primitive feelings, rather I want to help you understand that a shift in consciousness is necessary for the ultimate benefit of the race. Unless we regain a very simple principle and put it into practice individually, as a race we will become extinct rather quickly.
Martial arts are in fact quite peaceful when practiced with the purpose of individual freedom being the goal. Being able to defend oneself from those who would try and attach you to some ant colony approach for humanity is essential to our freedom Sadly, there are those who honestly have no idea what personal responsibility is, which is why they get upset when others act outside of their permission and or narrow life views. This applies equally well to all religions, be they state based or myth. The ultimate goal of organized religions like the city-state governance approach or myth based is to convert or kill all. The facts are quite obvious to all but the most indoctrinated. The United States has long believed in the policy of, force freedom and our version of life on everyone. This is obvious if you take a minute and look at all conflicts since 1790. Every single conflict this nation has been involved in was the result of a political or monetary goal. The stated reasons are always “defense of American lives and property.” The reality is always very different.
This is why 22 veterans kill themselves every day, because they KNOW what they are doing is morally wrong and they do not know HOW to make it fit into their approach with life. They are told to follow orders, so they do, than they see what their orders are, and cannot balance the two sides. End result, self termination.
This is why I teach and preach the idea of preparedness on both a physical scale and a mental one. Learn from someone who knows and can actually teach you without pulling the, “this is the only way, or, I was in the military so” card. Learn how to defend yourself and learn how to take personal responsibility. This is the most important part. Martial Arts when taught with respect will always enable the brain to engage the portion that remembers that each of our actions individually matter. Eg., personal responsibility.
