Your brain is the weapon, all else is a tool to be used.

Using an enemies tools after taking them from the enemy is the difference between life and death. Always be sure to train using all potential weapons of the enemy one may face. Understand that by doing so you are ensuring you will survive if necessary.

Remember the following rules of weapons use.

  1. Reliable function – A tool must be absolutely reliable (1000 rounds for firearms without a firearm related malfunction and edge retention and flexibility of knives other tools have other tests.)
  2. Accurate ability – With firearms accuracy is necessary
  3. Understanding of the tool – Always be capable of understanding the function and use of the tools you may encounter.
  4. Matching a tool to the job – Some tools from firearms through knives and more have jobs they are designed for. Understanding this and applying it during use is essential.

The two most prolific firearms in modern policing and military use today are the M16 (civilian AR15) and M4 (civilian AR15 with a shorter barrel) and the Ak47 and AK74. Most modern com bloc nations use a variant of the AK74 and the formidable round, 5.45×39 as their front line firearm. In the United States the 9×19 and the 5.56×45 are the rounds of choice with the military while police departments across the United States and Federal Law Enforcement use a mixture of 9×19, .40sw, .45acp depending on location and what local political entities allow. In countries around the world the 9×18 and either the 7.62×39 or 5.45×39 are used with few exceptions. If you can accurately fire a mixture of these calibers using one of the variety of platforms in existence you are likely going to be better equipped as a guerilla type in the event that resistance to tyranny becomes ever more likely.

Remembering that your brain is the weapon train regularly in adapting to changes that occur. For some you may face physical challenges (I do and I adapt) and for others it will be simply training yourself to adapt to situations as they occur. Remembering that unless you are the actor in a situation you will always be reacting to situations as they are handed to you by life. Change your daily routines, instead of becoming upset over minor delays that occur in life learn to adapt to them and by remaining ever aware of your surroundings be able to avoid these delays. As I and thousands of other voluntaryists and free individuals do, follow the minor laws in as much as those laws do not contradict your values with regards to life. Doing this will place you outside the radar of the law and government and allow you to further benefit your family and those you consider your inner circle.

Form circles of trust, and NEVER deviate from this approach. As I teach my children, never lie if you say something, but be careful to whom you say things. It is unnecessary to say anything to some while others may benefit (being within your inner circle) from the knowledge you gain. Learn to listen more than you talk, this alone is the single hardest function I have had to learn personally. However, by reducing my inner circle and saving my talking and listening for them, I can listen more when those in other circles talk. Learning, educating myself and adapting as life moves forward.

Above all remember, you alone affect your life, your past choices guide your future actions. And since every action effectively occurs in the past once an action is taken, it cannot be changed. So stop hesitating, learn to make a decision and simply complete the attached action. Hesitation will kill you or those close to you. Stop hesitating, stop double thinking your decisions and begin listening, learning and acting from and with the knowledge you have acquired versus being the person whose mouth runs non-stop and whose actions in almost every case end up with more suffering. “Whoa is me, poor me, why do all these bad things happen to me.” Don’t be that idiot, your choices are what have led you to either succeed or fail. Accept that and move on. If you have chosen well (inner circle) you will gain knowledge that not only benefits you but allows you to be a better friend or family to those within that circle.

Use the tools you have at your disposal, remember, where you are physically now is where you should be. What ifs and but I should haves, only take away from your life now. You cannot live in the past, it is gone and unchangeable. You cannot know the future though you can guide what it may be based on your actions and decisions NOW. No place or group or thought process is better than the one you use or are in now. Change who you are before thinking to change where you are or what you are doing. Learn to engage others by first listening and than discussing and lastly acting.

If any of this makes sense awesome.

However, if none of it does, ask me why? Or better yet, ask yourself why.

Free the mind and the body will follow

About Jesse Mathewson

Jesse Mathewson is the author of the popular blog, and provides commentary to many varied places based on a background that includes education in criminal justice, history, religion and even insurgency tactics and tactical training. His current role in his community is as an organizer of sorts and a preacher of community solidarity and agorism. He also runs Liberty Practical Training, a self defense school specializing in the practical applications of defensive approaches versus the theoretical. As an agorist, voluntaryist and atheist his life is seen as crazy and wild by many, though once they get to know him most realize he is a bluntly honest individual who will give you the shirt off his back if he believes it is necessary to help you. Very simple, "That which is voluntary between all individuals involved is always right, if it is not voluntary, it is always wrong."
