I am not a “they” I am a me. In my logical mind there should be no difference in humans except what they as individuals make among themselves. To allow society to promote the idea of the “hero” myth regardless reason is to promote the idea that a piece of fabric or metal makes us different.
I detest this religious zeal as embraced by state worshippers world round, this desire to see inherent superiority and by default “authority” simply based on a short amount of haphazard education and the application of pen and paper.
(Cops and soldiers have among the top ten most dangerous professions no standing, and are less educated and “trained” in their jobs than even garbage haulers are)
Give me a local government and sheriff (town/county) but take away all centralized government/enforcement on large scale as it will always end in pain, death, theft and harm to regular joes first. This is the single most important example seen through the ages regardless the rare interludes of supposed benefit. History shows us what happens when we give all power to a few, and what always happens when those few in power have well armed lightly trained well indoctrinated military (or in modern times police) the romans conquered not because of their military but inspite of it and because of the indoctrination of the sheeple it ruled. Their “soldiers” in one on one combat were no match for the average gaul, pict or even slave, their ability to win relied solely on the commanders ability to move, motivate and rule a large teeming mass of men. Same as today.
History. Those who do not learn from it are doomed to repeat it…sure this applies to governments etc., but more this applies to us- those who see what is wrong but fail to act because we are afraid of how we will be seen 😦 –
